What is PDF?
 
It stands for Portable Document Format and you'll need Adobe's Acrobat Reader, which is a free download, to view or print these documents  (you probably have it already). 

I think you'll find that PDF documents print better than web pages.  Also, you can e-mail PDF documents or parts of the document.  For example, if you open a picture album PDF, you can select and e-mail specific pictures.

In addition, PDF documents can be searched.

When Adobe Reader starts, it opens a window with the PDF document in it and a tool bar above it.  

In summary, you can print, e-mail and search PDF documents as well as save them to your disk.
